Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28
Ia (360)
Successful Slave Evangelist
Ia, a Greek slave in Persia, was arrested because of her success in converting the Persian women amongst whom she lived to Christianity. She was tortured by King Shapur II’s forces, who stretched her limbs and beat her cruelly. Ia was then thrown in jail for several months in a bid to get her to deny her faith in Christ. But she remained steadfast, so eventually her hands were tied and she was lashed to death, her flesh torn to the bone. The soldiers then cut off her head and threw the corpse away.
They face the trials of broken bones for Jesus.
They take the pain that others won’t endure.
Yet in their hearts they sing of His salvation;
They know His love
They live His way
Their faith in Him is sure.

O Lord Jesu, our only health and our everlasting life, I give myself wholly unto your will; being sure that the thing cannot perish which is committed unto your mercy. You, merciful Lord, were born for my sake; you did suffer both hunger and thirst for my sake; you did preach and teach, pray and fast for my sake; and finally you gave your most precious body to die and your blood to be shed on the cross, for my sake. Most merciful Saviour, let all these things profit me which you have freely given me. O Lord, into your hands, I commit my soul.
