It is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

Safwat Zakher Saleh (1995)
Kindness Kills
Safwat was killed and his Christian neighbour injured in an attack on Christians in Upper Egypt in late May 1995. The incident in Hoor village, near Assiut, occurred when Safwat and his brother Nabeel, who were both doctors, were at home taking a break from their work. They were disturbed by a phone call from their clinic, complaining that some patients had been waiting a long time to see a doctor. Nabeel said that the patients could come over to the house. When they arrived, the “patients” pulled their guns on Safwat and shot him dead. Nabeel managed to hide while their courageous neighbour, who heard the gunshots, was wounded as he ran towards the house.
The perpetrators of this crime were Islamic extremists who had threatened the life of Nabeel if he did not pay them a large sum of money because he was a Christian. The jizya is a tax paid by non-Muslims according to sharia as a sign of their subjugation to Muslims.
Even if it’s a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.
